Spontaneous!

Monday morning hubby woke up and said “I have a had a crazy thought”  OK I replied with a hint of curiosity {After all you know what they say! Curiosity killed the cat!!}  And much to my surprise he declared he was taking two days off work, to treat the children and myself to a trip at the Zoo, and an overnight stay in the new forest and a day out at an adventure park the following day!

We decided not to tell the children our plans, got them quickly to pack a bag, while I got my orders ready for posting, and headed out by 10am.

I can’t tell you how lovely it was to spend some quality time with both my hubby and the children, there was no stress! No fighting just pure adventure!

We walked around Marwell Zoo looking at all the animals, then headed off to our Hotel for some late lunch/ early dinner, then spent a couple of hours walking through the new forest looking at trees and wild ponies, finished with a nice drive through the little villages Burly being a favourite because of its connection with Witchcraft and all the kooky shops!

Our Beautiful Hotel Rhinefield House, so much history here!

Apparently this is the best way to eat icecream!!

The old Gentlemans "Smoking room" Ceiliing in our Hotel

Today we woke up really early ate breakfast and headed off to Paultons Park. What I really love about Paultons Park is all the rides are aimed at 14 and under so both my children could go on every single ride, and Phoenix was tall enough to go a few this year! The tea cup being a favourite because all five of us got to go on together!
Phoenix on his first ever "big" ride

Hehe clearly having so much fun!

Those curls!!

Heading home with sponge bob daddy won!

But as you can see what Phoenix enjoyed most was the water jet park, and once he got in it was nearly impossible to get him out! Lol well without getting soaked in the process!

I am now really looking forward to next week, when we go on Holiday with 11 children!

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

WIP & Yarn along! - Snap!

 Morning Wednesday!

At the weekend I sat..yes SAT on my Hitchhiker and this happened!!! :(

So noooo knitting on my Hitchhiker! I really do think the hitchhiker is the perfect name for this shawl..because the amount of time it’s taking I might as well be hitching across to the other side of the world!!!

Got a whole set of replacement needles delivered this morning!! And I am itching to get this finished so I can knit something with my new colour way range “Dark Arts” I am thinking SOCKs eep!!..(I said thinking!! So don’t hold me to it lol)
Photo: What do you think of my new range? "Dark Arts" half of the skein is vibrant the other half is black! All the colours in this range are repeatable! And custom orders don't cost you any extra! I will be adding more colours over the next few days :)
Dark Arts - Half black, Half Colour

 One a day = None a day!!..Erm Moving on!!.....

Book wise I am STILL on book six!! of the Black dagger brotherhood! And only 44% of the way through, which is poor considering I was getting through a book a week two weeks ago! - I am just not in to it!! gaaah

I was feeling a bit downhearted and well just crappy about making no progress this week! I think no sleep at the weekend! And no craft time!! (6 children one being 4 months old ran me ragged) didn’t help!

But I had my hair cut yesterday, and got shorter bangs! And now I am feeling much better!. Most probably because I have some air flow to my forehead now lol..but it’s amazing how just getting pampered for an hour can re-energise you!!
Photo: New shorter bangs! Whoohoo
My new bangs :D

Well that’s it!! I will be back tomorrow with Fibre appreciation Thursday, in which I will announce the winner of my teal yarn give away!! (Give-away close’s at 9.00am GMT in the morning!! So you still have time!!)

Have a lovely Wednesday everyone!! xxxxx

Paleo Food Diary 02 & Snappy Happy Monday!

Morning!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend?!...I have had my hands full with 6 children, three of which went back to their nanas today, so I am going to play catch up!!

Today is supposed to be my one a day update! But I will blog that with WIP & yarn along tomorrow! – Better later then never is my motto this week!!
Paleo Food Diary 02 - Thai

Today I am going to share with you my favourite meal and recipe, from last week!
I got the basic recipe from Livinpaleo and added some other ingredients to put my own stamp on it!
Hubby and I do love our Thai food, and this was a huge hit!! In fact I actually preferred it to my local take-away! And I didn’t have a tender belly after!!

I use:

4 chicken breasts
6 tbsp of coconut oil
4 courgettes (needed more!!)
2 carrots (needed more!)
2 onion s
4 fresh garlic cloves
2 tbsp of minced ginger
1.5 tbsp of lemon grass minced
4 tbsp of almond butter
1 juice of fresh lemon
Tiny pinch of sea salt (optional)
Fresh black pepper
To garnish, I added sliced spring onions and coriander.

In a griddle pan cook your diced chicken with the minced lemon grass and coconut oil
In a wok or separate pan sauté your onions until soft, then add your garlic, ginger, almond butter, lemon juice salt and pepper.

Peel your courgettes and carrots, and cut into noodle shape strips.(i cooked the carrot in a separate pan because they take longer to cook then courgettes) add them to your mix of onion etc and cook/sauté for a further 10 mins

Once chicken is cooked, mix everything together, add your carrots, you can ether quickly stir fry your spring onions or garnish raw, end with a sprinkle of chopped up coriander.

Enjoy!! xx

Fibre Appreciation Thursday - Yarn Give away

Morning :D
I am going to kick start this week’s FAT with a Yarn Give away!
This is your chance to win a Skein, of super washed BFL! - Winner will be picked at random!

One of my Favourite colours is teal, I use it a lot in my yarns, and this particular one is a darker shade of Greeny / blue..like the sea that surrounds us.
The Prize
Unfortunately the camera never captures “teal” in its true colour, so you just have to take my word for it lol.
Ok so on to the serious bit, this give away is open for worldwide entries, all I asked is that you’re a follower of my blog and/or Facebook, Instagram  - This is important to me because I want one of my lovely readers to win! And I think it also makes it fairer for you guys!!
To enter just leave a comment below, and let me know where or how you’re following my blog, esp if I can’t visually find you on my reader/follow list to the right of my blog.
Winner will be announced in next Thursday’s post. {26th of July 2012}
Now on to some yummy Fibre pictures!
This week I have been playing with Block Black, for my Witches brew range which has resulted in quite a few customs, in the same colours.
Dark Pumpkin : Orange, Blood Red and Black

Devils Horn : Black and Blood Ref
I love pairing black with rich vibrant tones! The orange and blood red in the skeins above are a perfect example of how stunning these combinations can be.
Blood Moon : Red, Black and Grey
I have also been trying it out on fibre, and really pleased with how my Blood moon turned out!..{now if only I could spin properly!!}
All this talk about colour has been thought provoking!! –Now  I am huge lover of vibrant colours, as some of you know very well lol, and friend mention the other week, that I am “known” for my girly colours, which surprised me a little (not in a bad way )..i guess I have never sat back and really thought about it, because I just dye and play with colours that I love.

So just out of interest what do you guys associate my yarn with? Do you think my colours tend to be gender specific?  - I guess every fibre artist has their own signature, just trying to figure out what mine is lol
Thats it from me to day, look forward to seeing your links!{ if your joining us for the first time and not sure how it works read this post :)

Have an awesome fibre filled Thursday xx

WIP & Yarn along! - calling all fibre addicts

Morning Wednesday,

Not much to report on my Hitchhiker!!  ;( - Although I am up to 22 teeth now!
Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 6)
Reading wise I am still on book 6 of the black dagger brotherhood, and only 25% through, this is for two reasons, one being everything is just manic here, and I am only being able to get a page in here and there, and the second being that I am not really getting into this book like I did the other 5.

Tomorrow I will be back with the new meme I am hosting

Fibre Appreciation Thursday is all about sharing the love of all things fibre, it’s not focusing on WIPs or FOs but rather on each other’s yarn and fibre stashes!

Thursdays are your opportunity to show off what’s in your stash, for example it maybe some yarn or fibre that you have recently purchased! Or a skein you brought years ago but you don’t want to use it as it’s far to pretty!!! Or maybe you want to talk about fibre or yarn that you’re coveting but not got your hands on it yet!

Alternately you can blog about your favourite fibre artist or yarn brand! Show us your favourite yarn shop ether Online or local!!

For the fibre artist, and or spinners among us why don’t you use this opportunity to show off your work?!

MY Blog post and Mr Linky will be posted on a Thursday morning!, but the posts you link up can be written on any day of the week! (Past or present)

I am really hoping that this meme will be a great way of introducing each other to fibre artist or yarn companies and colour ways that we wouldn’t have known about beforehand!

And just think about all the yummy yarn porn your get to see!..HERE is my post from last week, to give you an idea what I am writing about!!

Oh and I have a thread running this  blogging group on Raverly, so please feel free to also link your post there as well for more traffic to your posts! * you will need to be logged into raverly to see it!*

Have a fantastic day!! Xx
