One A Day - Back on track!

Yay I can finally report PROGRESS!! { oh that feels good!!} After a few weeks of failures, I am so glad that I switched back over to crochet for my once a day!

My project

The tally this week is 34 which means I made 9 in total {yay}.

The only negative to report this week, was I ordered an addi swing to test out, and I just really don’t like it, the curve at the bottom is just annoying, it reminds of a dental tool, and I really don’t like the colour, the hook was good though!

So…now I am waiting for the post man to bring me a load more clover and tulip hooks {my other ones have grown legs and done a runner so it seems!!} And have ordered a couple of other brands to try out, {Knit pro Aluminium gold, Prym and some metal hooks with Bamboo handles which are handmade.}

Fingercross it shouldn’t be too much of a long Waite!

  2. well done on getting on with one a day. your comment on the hook made me laugh, they don't look real comfortable to use so not sure I would use them.

  3. It really does look like a medical tool!!
I got a cheap Pony crochet hook and moulded my own handle out of Fimo clay and baked it in the oven, that way it was custome made for my hand.If that's any help to you.

  4. Heh, I know just what you mean about the Swing hooks. Like you, I got one out of interest, but I found I just can't get on with it. For me, it's about how I hold it - the end kept hitting the heel of my hand. I don't know if it's related to your grip - I hold my hook like a pen, but I wondered if a knife-holder would have more success.

My favourite hooks of all time are my Tulip Etimo hooks - they're pretty pricey, but I can crochet twice as long with them as with anything else. Worth a try if you're in the market for new things!

  5. Glad to see your enjoying the crochet. I can't wait to hear which hooks you prefer. I just have bog standard ones as I've only recently learned to crochet. The swing hook looks very bulky. Have a lovely week. Ali x

  9. Bummer about the hook, it is something I really wanted to try. I have tried the knitpro with the moulded handle and didn't like it at all. I seem to like the cheap cheap hooks!

  10. You're right! It does look like a toothbrush! I wondered why I thought it looked so familiar and yet odd.

  12. I wasn't fond of my Addi either and I had very high hopes for it. I think it is in the couch now. LOL.

  13. Good for you getting going again, it's going to be so gorgeous when it's finished. I just bought a Knit Pro hook but up until now have been perfectly happy with my earwax coloured Clover ones. I'll be interested to see how you get on.

  15. Yay for progress, and oh wow for that hook. It does look like a torture tool--or at least that's how I refer to anything dental!

  16. Reinventing doesn't always lead to progress, at least that's what I thought when looking at this monster of a hook...
Btw, great progress with 9 in 7 (days)! :D

  18. Haha, I had trouble with the Addi Swing when I first got it, too. I seem to have grown used to it over time :). Etimos are my favorite comfort hooks and i have to keep my eyes on them all the time lol.
