Royal Wedding..what little girls dreams are made of...

My daughter woke up this morning very excited about the royal wedding, they are learning about kings and Queens at school at the moment,  so what a great opportunity to watch history literally  being written.

I can remember watching Prince Charles and Princess Diana, get married on Tv when I was a child, and the fairy tale dreams it invoked, which is why it brought a big smile to my face, when I my daughter came running into my room this morning dress for the occasion.

Of course, also a photo opportunity I couldn’t miss :)

Caponcho and the magic Loop

I have to say, now I have cracked the magic loop, it’s the best thing ever! I am loving the fact that I don’t have to purl! Magic loop really opens up the possibilities door, where knitting is concerned, my only minor grumble, which is most probably down to my technique, or lack of, is the distort in the first joining rows, I have been pulling it tight, so its not to bad! If any one knows of away to sort this please let me know!!

And now on to my caponcho, I love this pattern by Emma Fassio, so simple yet effective!  The one I made my sister claimed, so now in the process of making Sophia a little one, then I will make one for me in Posh yarn!..I am so pleased how this turned out! It’s the first thing I have knitted, that had no mistakes or sewing up to do!

Let me know what you think J

Model is beautiful sister, i think the colour suites her perfectly :)

Good bye Rain...Hello Sunshine :)

I must of jinx myself!.. Because it rained every day last week in Spain! Wasn’t a total wash out, I took some beautiful pictures of the cloud formations, and the sea waves were pretty impressive! I also finished my caponcho!! And without a single mistake!

Hello sunshine :)

Its good to be Home :)

Think I have cracked the magic Loop J, not been able to get a lot of knitting done, because I have had my father in law to stay, and like I have mentioned before, I am not a skilled talking while knitting esp while doing magic loop would not be wise.

My father in law flew in from Iran

Phoenix has enjoyed having his big brother home from school

My daughter chilling in her room

Tonight we are off to Spain for a week, I am taking my knitting with hopefully next week I will have some actual knitting to show you …and of course plenty of pictures from hopefully sunny SpainJ

Work in Progress Wednesday

I am still slogging away on P fluffy Blanket, really should have used bigger needles then a 4mm i have a feeling he would have up and left home by the time i have finished, so i might frog it and start again, with a different yarn??
I have just cast on, Emma Fassio's, caponcho.i have had to frog it three times already, because its my first time knitting in the round, and using the magic loop, I keep twisting my knitting grr...finding it quite hard :S
I am using a marble chunky for this, as I don’t want to any of my posh yarn to get ruined lol

I picked these up at unravel :)
Just about to attempt my 4th go at the magic loop..really hope i succeed this time :/

To have a nose at other peoples WIP, Blog's

Comfort food...

Had a very non-productive couple of days craft wise, I haven’t had time to write up my felted flower tutorial, or get a head start on my mum’s feeling a bit peeved off.
I have my father in law coming to stay tomorrow, and Sunday we fly to Spain, so have been busy cleaning etc, it’s no secret, that I am not a skilled multitasker , in fact I have a brain fart, if I have to try and remember more than my own name most days..I blame it on baby brain..but  I am fully aware that “super mums” do exist..*sigh*…sadly and not through the want of trying, I will never be one….i am hoping I will regain some brain cells now that were heading out of the nappy stage..
I had stich ‘n’ B tonight and tried to cast on Emma Fassio caponcho..i say tired because it was my first time doing the magic loop and in fact knitting in the round…and I kept getting my rows twisted..i have  frogged  it three times *cry*  I will try again tomorrow…practice’s makes perfect right!!
As you can tell, I am feeling really sorry for myself. * Cue violin’s* .lol. what better way to comfort myself..then making a huge bowl of crushed ryvita mixed with nutella..tastes like Ferrero Rocher!!!  But without the calories!! YUM!!

Its Blooming....

Today I made the flowers for the 2nd part of my wet felting tutorial, which will be typed up tomorrow, because now I have to start work on a fairy fabric doll for my lovely mummy :)
These flowers can also be used for hair clips, bands. Or brooches
but i think they look stunning on my Spring Bag :)

Just have to sew them all in place tonight :)

some times its the the little things

Not a lot from me this weekend, I went out on Friday night with my husband, which these days is quite a rare occurrence, so have been feeling a tad hangover but all worth it, we had a really good night, and it was much needed, I did however manage to finish my neck warmer made from the Debbie bliss soho! And cast on Phoenix a fluffy blanket.
I love seeing my efforts being loved, and used, its so rewarding.
My autumn shawl gets used a lot at the moment, especially by Phoenix, who loves to snuggle with it on his bean bag or the sofa and in bed , I like to use it round my shoulders, when it starts to get chilly of an evening, but at the moment it only, comes down half way down my back, at the back, so the next one I make, will be double the size and will be more like a blanket.

I captured this picture last night of my daughter fast asleep with one of the sock monkeys I made her for Christmas, its so rewarding to see her still loving and cuddling the teddies I have made for her, and it makes me feel very special, that out of all her toys, and 100s of teddies she has, the ones I made her, are her favourites, and the ones she chooses to snuggle up in bed with :)

Its the little things like this in my life, that make me so happy :)

Today’s reflection

Had a really lovely day today, my children, are off school for three weeks for the Easter holidays.
We spent most of the day in the garden, enjoying the weather; I got to sit and watch them play together nicely while I did some knitting and had a small cheeky glass of wine. Even my cat shadow got in some chilling action
I really love watching them interact and laugh together,  it make's  all them sleepless nights, and constant nagging, all worth it. They even washed my car for me :)
I also had my felted sheets and bag drying in the sun! should be able to make the flowers tomorrow :)
