One a day project {week 1}

with Carol @ GingerBreadGirl

The Project : The Killarney Cloak

Yarn : Sirdar supersoft Aran in Poppy Red

Pattern:

Cape; 211 squares,{ 21 squares each row subtracted or added to alter length.} 15 triangle motif
Hood; 33 squares, 6 triangles

Progress: 6 squares

Thoughts:

Finally had a chance to start, after the mix up with the horrid bright red yarn, very pleased with the results so far, this poppy red is a lovely shade and will go lovely with red velvet ribbon edge i have planned.

I think i will sew in the ends every 20 squares! lol

  5. The red is nice. Red is a tough color to get just right. I had the same problem when I made cape for my daughter a few weeks ago. I like what you have chosen. It is going to look great.

  9. I love the red you've chosen to work with! And, velvet trim?? I can't wait to see how it turns out! I also agree that you are saving yourself a lot of headache by sewing your ends in as you go; that's always the worst part of every project!
